Baptism

Many student circles have an initiation ritual, also known as baptism. BIOS also has a baptism that will take place at the end of October or the beginning of November in Arenberg. Unfortunately, there are many rumors circulating about baptisms that do not align at all with the baptisms in student circles. You do not need to be baptized to be a member of the circle or association and participate in activities throughout the year.

For the baptism, there is a week during which students who wish to be baptized must complete fun and simple tasks together. No irresponsible, humiliating, dehumanizing, or incorrect practices occur during these tasks and the baptism itself. No drop of alcohol or other dangerous drinks will be consumed during any activity. The baptism will be led by baptism masters (who have also been baptized), and there will always be a first aid responsible person and a neutral contact person present. Each individual's allergies and physical limitations will be taken into account.

The baptism at BIOS is a fun event where you get to know your fellow students better and create a bond with the baptized. It is a nice activity where we always prioritize fun and safety.

Annually, a baptism charter is established in collaboration with the Leuven police. This contains strict rules regarding the conduct of the baptism that must never be broken. BIOS signs this charter every year.

During the baptism, the togetherness central, where incredibly fun experiences will be gained and a time will be experienced that you will not soon forget!

If you have questions about the baptism, you can contact the baptism masters or president.
